2012 is the year the Wrangler got the 3.6 Pentastar in place of the 3.8 V6, with about 40 percent more power, and a 5-speed automatic in place of the 4-speed. Engine, transmission, cooling and many sensor procedures are different from a 2011, so the year really matters here.
